What is Modern Slavery
Modern slavery is an international crime, affecting an estimated 40.3 million people around the world. It is a growing global issue that transcends age, gender and ethnicities. It includes victims who have been brought from overseas and vulnerable people in the UK, who are forced to illegally work against their will across many different sectors such as agriculture, hospitality, construction, retail and manufacturing.
Our Commitment
Flexipharm Austrading Limited is committed to operating responsibly and with integrity in respect to everyone’s basic human rights and will not tolerate slavery or human trafficking within our business or supply chains.
Flexipharm Austrading Limited believe that the cessation of slavery and human trafficking is a responsibility in which all have an important role to play, especially within the pharmaceutical industry.
As a company distributing “finished dosage form” medicines our suppliers are principally manufacturers of medicinal products and UK based freight forwarders and warehouse providers. As a policy within all decision making, we will cease using suppliers not conforming with the highest ethical standards in both slavery and human trafficking practices, this also extends to the protection of whistle-blowers. We expect all supplier standards to comply with all current national and international laws, regulations and codes to prevent trafficking and slavery where it relates to their own business operations.
Flexipharm Austrading Limited works with all its suppliers on a continuous improvement basis to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in any of their supply chains or any part of their business in compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015. This is achieved by ensuring all internal and external stakeholders have the appropriate quality-related credentials for business practices, verified through regular formal inspections and audits.
We only partner with third parties who act ethically, compliantly and within the laws of the jurisdiction in which they operate. We work hard to create long term relationships with all parties within our supply chains to enable transparency and allow for open and honest communication regarding business practices. By agreeing prices and lead times in long term commercial agreements with suppliers, we help ensure commercial terms work for both parties while meeting ethical standards.
However, for any partners within the supply chain who are not willing to be open and transparent and/or stop unethical businesses practices within a required timeframe, we will terminate the business relationship.
